An affiliate organization of the East Carolina Alumni Association, the ECU Society of Law Alumni is the official University affinity group for ECU alumni working in the field of law. Although the University does not offer a law degree, alumni from many disciplines have received their Juris Doctor degree from other institutions. These alumni continue to have a strong connection with East Carolina, therefore a group that serves to maintain contact among members and advocate for the University through the profession was established.
Group members are provided with opportunities to network, build professional and personal connections, participate in events and activities, and represent all ECU law alumni. Membership in the organization is free ofcharge.
The Society includes an Executive Committee, including [list of officers], and general members. ECU administrators from the Alumni Association and University Advancement serve as ex-officio members of the organization.
Members of the Society do not have to be graduates of East Carolina, but must be considered alumni (those who attended the University for two consecutive semesters) and hold a degree in law.
