Robert H. Wright Award

Description and Eligibility

The Robert H. Wright Alumni Leadership Award is designed to be the most prestigious award presented to seniors during annual commencement exercises. The award is to recognize academic achievement at East Carolina, service (both to the University and the community), and leadership qualities (both potential and exhibited). The recipients should exemplify those special characteristics which would cause him or her to be recognized as one who will make a positive difference in his or her profession and community. In addition to other accomplishments, the recipient should have an overall academic average of at least 3.5 through the first semester of the graduation year. A student with extraordinary achievements whose GPA is slightly less than 3.5 may be nominated. All nominations must be accompanied by at least one letter of recommendation from the academic unit and an up-to-date transcript. A senior whose graduation is later than the spring commencement of a particular year (summer or fall) may be considered for the award to be given at the spring commencement immediately following his/her graduation.
