
| | Daniel Landon Allen Daniel Landon Allen is a biology and chemistry major with a minor in business administration from Wake Forest, NC. During his time at East Carolina, Landon has maintained a 4.0 GPA and been named on the Chancellor’s List each semester. He graduates with honors. Landon is an Elite Pirate, recipient of the Thomas Harriot College Award, is an EC Scholar, and received the Keith D. Holmes Chemistry Award, the Gabriel Cipau Chemistry Award, and the CRC Press Chemistry Award. He is a member of Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society, Phi Eta Sigma Honor Fraternity, president of the Presbyterian Campus Ministry, a Project Heart Tutor and Chemistry Learning Center Tutor, and participated in the Physician Shadowing Program. He has done mission work in Guatemala, Nicaragua, New Orleans, and Washington, D.C., and is an Eagle Scout. After graduation, Landon will enter ECU’s College of Business for graduate school and then the Brody School of Medicine in 2011.

| | Brooke Jacinda Barton Brooke
Jacinda Barton is a health services management major with a minor in
business from Lake Toxaway, NC. During her time at East Carolina, Brooke
has been named on the Chancellor’s and Dean’s Lists. She graduates with
honors. Brooke is an Elite Pirate, a Homecoming Court nominee, SGA’s
Shipmate of the Year for 2006-2007, and received the Omicron Delta Kappa
Presidential Award for Executive Distinction. She served on SGA,
Omicron Delta Kappa, and held many positions with ECU’s Baptist Campus
Ministry. She is a legislative ambassador for the American Cancer
Society and has been on two mission trips to Brazil. After graduation,
Brooke will attend ECU’s College of Business for graduate school. |

 | | Kyle Shane Bowen Kyle Shane Bowen is an industrial distribution major
with a concentration in logistics and a minor in business from
Chesapeake, VA. During his time at East Carolina, Kyle has been named on
the Chancellor’s and Dean’s Lists. He graduates with honors. Kyle is a
member of ECU’s Army ROTC where he has been a squad leader for four
years and is recognized as the number five cadet in the nation out of
3,500 cadets. He is a member of the 2009 Ranger Challenge Team,
Sandhurst Team, and has been team leader, company commander, and platoon
sergeant. Kyle is an Alumni Scholar, is a member of the Scottish Rite
of Free Masonry, received an Army Air Assault award, and is an Eagle
Scout. He served on SGA, assisted with ECU football game program sales,
and volunteered for the Wounded Warrior Run. After graduation, Kyle will
serve in the U.S. Army as a Quartermaster, Second Lieutenant. |

 | | Jason Lewis Morton Jason Lewis Morton is a music education major from
Jacksonville, NC. During his time at East Carolina, Jason has been
named on the Chancellor’s and Dean’s Lists. He graduates with honors and
is the 2010 School of Music Outstanding Senior. Jason spent a semester
at sea through the Institute for Shipboard Education where he traveled
to eight countries with 750 students from 350 universities from around
the world. He raised $35,000 for the Semester At Sea Annual Fund and was
the creator and founding member of the Society for Educational
Awareness during this program. Jason is an Elite Pirate, an Alumni
Scholar, a North Carolina Teaching Fellow, and member of Pi Kappa Lambda
National Music Honor Society, Phi Gamma Delta, National Society of
Collegiate Scholars, and Phi Kappa Phi Collegiate Honor Society. He
served as president and secretary of ECU’s Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia
Fraternity of America and treasurer of ECU’s chapter of the Collegiate
Division of MENC: The National Association for Music Education. Jason
was a Marching Pirate, a member of ECU’s Fine Arts Funding Board, and
the Student Forum for Musical Organizations. After graduation, Jason
will teach music education in the North Carolina public school system. |

| | Nina Fay Rose Nina Fay Rose is a public relations and journalism
major from Charlotte, NC. During her time at East Carolina, Nina has
been named on the Chancellor’s and Dean’s Lists. She will graduate with
honors. Nina was featured with a Pirate Profile on ECU’s Web site,
received a Campus Living Academic Excellence Award, and the Thomas W.
Rivers Study Abroad Scholarship, which she used to study in Granada,
Spain. She is a member of Phi Eta Sigma Honor Fraternity, the National
Society for Collegiate Scholars, and the Student Pirate Club. Nina
served on SGA as a freshman and sophomore class officer, was a School of
Communication News Anchor, and interned with Uptown Greenville, Eckel
and Vaughan, WNCT-TV, and the East Carolina Alumni Association. Nina
participated in Extreme Makeover Home Edition during spring break 2009
in Jamesville, NC. Nina received a Certificate of Hispanic Studies for
proficiency of speaking Spanish in the workplace. After graduation, Nina
will attend graduate school at the College of Charleston. |
