ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
The Symposium will feature recognized experts who provide health and wellness related service to residents of rural Eastern North Carolina. Using presentations and posters, the Symposium will describe programs and research designed to promote wellness and to reduce health disparities.
At the conclusion of this program, the participant should be able to:
-Describe research and programs that address the health needs of children and adults living in rural eastern North Carolina.
-Describe programs oriented to prevention and treatment of health conditions in rural eastern North Carolina to include Head Start and early intervention, dental health, substance abuse, mental health issues and motor vehicle use.
-Discuss current ECU research evidence in rural health services.
-Provide networking opportunities for researchers, practitioners, community residents and leaders who are interested in rural health.
