As part of the East Carolina Alumni Association’s Service Month, ECU alumni, faculty and staff, students, and friends will participate in the 2nd Annual Relay For Life® hosted by East Carolina University, April 3-4, 2009. Help raise money and awareness to support the American Cancer Society in its mission to eliminate cancer and save lives. Relay For Life® is the American Cancer Society’s nationwide signature fundraiser and honors those we have lost to cancer, celebrates survivors, and fights back against the disease. Your support, as a participant and/or donor will help the East Carolina Alumni Association team reach its goal of $5,000 toward the overall Relay goal of $40,000.
How does it work? Participation on the East Carolina Alumni Association team is $10.00 (T-shirt included). Team members collect contributions from family, friends, neighbors, colleagues, etc. to raise funds for the American Cancer Society. On Relay day, team members take turns walking the track while enjoying activities, entertainment, camaraderie, and food – it’s like an ECU community campout! A special Survivor’s Victory Lap opens the Relay and all cancer survivors are welcome to participate, free of charge.
