<< BackCancer survivors get creative to cheer on Race for the Cure participants
Dale Gidley ’70, his wife Sandra, who is a two-time cancer survivor, and their friend Deb Ziegler, also a cancer survivor, found a creative way to incorporate ECU Pirates spirit to cheer on Susan G. Komen Foundation Race for the Cure participants during the recent Dallas, TX event. Sandra and Deb decorated women’s intimates and attached them to a car for display at one of the cheering stations—a fun reminder why the Race for the Cure is so important.
Since 2006 the “Sassy Sisters,” as Sandra and Deb call themselves, have raised $56,000 for the Foundation and walked 120 miles.
