Enroll with MS 365 SSPR before March 4, 2024, as pirateid.ecu.edu will no longer work for alumni. Account authentication is now also required. MFA setup is part of SSPR enrollment.

Enroll at passwordreset.microsoftonline.com.
15-character passwords required.
After enrollment, annual password reset and authentication management is through pirate365.ecu.edu.

Now take advantage of these great perks!

Alumni email*

Graduates only.
Mailbox size is 50GB.
Your student account, pirateID@student.ecu.edu, automatically converts to an ECU alumni address, pirateID@ecualumni.ecu.edu.
Your student email address still works.
Items in your student email are also available in your new alumni account.
Passwords are 15 characters and changed every 365 days.
Enroll with Microsoft 365’s Self Service Password Reset service for password/account authentication setup.
After enrollment, password/account authentication management is through pirate365.ecu.edu account settings.
Don’t forget to manually update your mobile app password!
Accounts are deleted after 365 days of inactivity.

OneDrive cloud storage

OneDrive converts to a 1TB folder. If your student data exceeds 1TB, move, delete and organize before graduation.
Create and edit documents using OneDrive’s Office Online Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Your desktop versions of Microsoft Office are no longer licensed through ECU after graduation. Documents stored on your computer become read-only.

Readmitted to ECU?

If you return to ECU as a student, your account converts back to your previous student account.
Didn’t finish that graduate degree? You are still entitled to an alumni email account if your undergraduate degree is from ECU.
