Note: Children 2 years and under are expected to sit on parent's lap. No need to purchase a game ticket for 2yrs and under. Football tickets are not refundable as they follow ECU Athletics guidelines which states "No refunds or exchanges." They may be be resold using this ECU Athletics' approved site.

If space is available, we will offer "day-of/at the gate" registration. Credit cards only, no cash will be accepted. No football game tickets are available to purchase at any tailgate event.

Children (3-10): $15/pp

Tailgate FAQs

Our Pirate Game Day Tailgate is located at ECU's Johnson Stadium adjacent to Clark-LeClair Stadium. Enter through Gate 1 of Johnson Stadium.
 

 

Parking is NOT included in your Pirate Game Day Tailgate registration.

Parking passes can be purchased through ECU Athletics. Parking for football fans without reserved parking passes will be available to purchase in the Carol Belk Building Lot and in the Swashbuckler Lot on 14th Street. Parking is limited and lots will open 6 hours prior to kick-off for weekend games (8:00 a.m. for kick-offs earlier than 2:00 p.m.). Spaces are first-come, first-served.

No food or beverages of any kind may be brought into the tailgate event area, nor will you be allowed to carry any out or into the stadium. Please, all fur-kids or pets of any kind are not allowed either. There is no secure space to leave any containers or other belongings at the gate, so should you need to do so, it is at your discretion and University staff is not responsible for any items that are lost, damage or stolen. Also, there is no smoking or vaping within the tailgate area.
Each Pirate Game Day Tailgate begins three hours before kick-off and lasts two hours. It closes an hour before kick-off. Dates and times are subject to change.

Pirate Game Day Tailgates are a great tradition to share with your entire family! Of course, while there are fun, family-friendly games available - we do ask that you always keep an eye on your children while in the tailgate area. There is lots of activity taking place and ECUAA staff is not always able to catch a youngster attempting to explore! Children pricing is for ages 3-10, those 11 years and up pay the adult price. 2 and under are free. If you're purchasing tickets to the football too, please remember that children 2 years and under are expected to sit on parent's lap and there is no need to purchase a game ticket for them.

Reminder: "Fur-kids" are not allowed to join you at the tailgate. 

Yes! You may register for entry into the tailgate at the door, the day of the event, if space is available. We only take credit cards at the door, no cash will be accepted. No football game tickets are available to purchase at any tailgate event.

You will not receive a physical ticket to the tailgate. When you arrive at Johnson Stadium and the Pirate Game Day Tailgate, you simply check-in with our ECUAA staff and all members of your party will be given a wristband so you can access the tailgate area.

If you purchased a Combo Pack, your football "ticket code" will be emailed directly to you by ECU Athletics. You will need that for entry into the stadium, so be sure to save or download directly to your mobile device.

Also - a confirmation email will be sent to the email you provided when you registered. This email will contain a record of your transaction, along with tailgate details. We recommend you save this email as it also contains a link that you may use to edit your registration. (i.e.  Add other guests, change names, etc.) Unfortunately, the system will not allow you to register again for the same event using the same email address. The easiest way to make those changes is using the link in your confirmation email.
