Pirate Alumni Road Race & Fun Run

Join us Saturday, April 13, 2019, for the 12th Annual Pirate Alumni Road Race and Fun Run in Greenville, NC. Hit the pavement and make your footprint count as alumni and friends race to raise funds for ECU scholarships. This family-friendly race will provide fun for the whole family. 

Race participants will receive an official racing bib, electronic timing chip, and a post race party with food and refreshments! Awards will be presented to the first three male finishers overall, to the first three female finishers overall, and to the top three male and female finishers in each age group. No awards will be presented to the fun run participants. This event is rain or shine!

Race Highlights

5K Road Race & 1 Mile Fun Run

Our custom race course is USATF certified and will begin on the corner of 1st and Reade Street. Participants will race through ECU's campus, passing by the Cupola, Trustee's Fountain, and Wright Circle before crossing the finish line in Uptown Greenville. The One Mile Fun Run will race straight down 1st Street and turn around at the 1/2 mile mark. You can download a course map here.

Pirate Costume Contest

Dress in your favorite Pirate garb and be entered in the Pirate Costume contest. Contestants will be viewed by the judges prior to the start of the 5K race and scored on their costume’s authenticity, originality, detail, and presentation. Awards will be given out after the medal ceremony in the following categories:  Scariest, Funniest, and Group. 

Pirate Fest Weekend

Pirates of all ages will converge on the banks of the Tar River in Uptown Greenville on April 12-13, 2019. Kick off Pirate Fest weekend with the Pirate Alumni Road Race and Fun Run and then stick around Uptown for all the Pirate festivities. Find out more at www.piratefestnc.com


Online registration closes at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 11. Race participants can still register on Friday, April 12 at Fleet Feet from 12:00pm to 6:00pm or on Saturday, April 13 prior to the race at 7:15 a.m.
